Apparently today is National Toast Day. I had no idea this was a thing, but it is.
I’m not sure who decided that today is Toast Day, nor what the story is behind it. I only see that other sites are mentioning it — it isn’t even in the list of food days on Wikipedia (though cheese toast and french toast make appearances). I don’t mind though, I always enjoy a reason to celebrate something, even moderately burnt bread.
Obviously, the best way to celebrate National Toast day would be with some toast related activities or projects. However, I think one of the best ways to fully celebrate today would be to simply plop some bread in your plain old toaster, slather some butter and maybe some jelly on it, and enjoy this funny video.

Tackling the toast maker, this perfectly executed attempt lampoons the videos we see so often that seem to take themselves just a bit too seriously. It is a wonderful and gentle reminder that maybe we should all relax a bit and just enjoy what we’re making, even if it is as mundane as pressing the lever on a toaster.
Have a wonderful toast day everybody.
