Plush Weapons at El Museo del Barrio’s Biennial

CONFORT pastel grenades.jpg
Last night I went to the opening of The (S) Files 2011, the sixth biennial exhibition at El Museo del Barrio, and saw loads of great crafty works, like Jessica Kairé’s “Objectos de Confort.”

…the CONFORT project represents a fictional brand of soft and warlike sculptures that offer psychological relief and a sense of protection to the consumer. The sculptural objects are hand manufactured with delicate fabrics and poly-fill, and then labeled as prototypes for mass-production.

She even has pictures of CONFORT Sewing Patterns displayed on her site, just in case you need a few hints on making your own plush grenade.
