Tomato soup battery and more – art by Ben Woodeson

New Maker-art crush, Ben Woodeson – “Variations on scientific methodology, energy and electricity, my practice examines basic technology through crude experimentation. Systematically reinventing and cross fertilising, primitive attempts to re-use and re-examine that which is commonplace and everyday; A pan technical investigation with maximum effort for minimal achievement.” Thanks SicklyGirl!- Link.

Pictured here, Mega Drive, TV, Bath, Safeway Saver’s Tomato Soup, Copper and Zinc Electrodes. The piece consisted of a bath of cheap tomato soup which generated the power for an old computer game and B+W TV. The computer game was playable by the viewers.
