Tunisian crochet (also called afghan stitch) is my newest yarn crafting obsession, and I love the luxuriously thick and beautifully textured fabric it produces. Because it’s an old technique that’s a fairly new crafting trend, there aren’t a ton of modern resources out there for beginners, so I’m really excited that the Purl Bee put together this guide to Tunisian crochet basics!

In case you’re not familiar, Tunisian crochet is worked on an extra-long crochet hook, and it feels a bit like a combination of knitting, crochet, and weaving. It’s especially great for creating sturdy, durable projects and playing with color.
