When it comes to trying out new crafting supplies and techniques, I’m a gal who likes to do her research. I figure that, if I’m going to spend time creating something new, I want to know the supplies I’m working with, and, when considering similar materials, I want to have the background knowledge required to confidently choose the best option for my project. This is where my pal Jenny from Craft Test Dummies steps in. If I ever encounter a material that I’ve never used before, she’s at the very top of my will-definitely-know list. (Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever asked her about a supply that she hasn’t already tried.) Case in point: this fantastic overview of using metal foils, flakes, and leafing.

The video she made on this topic is incredibly helpful and thorough. I didn’t know a single thing about using metal leafing before I watched, but now I’m totally prepared to use it on an upcoming project.
