Vickie Howell and SWTC stylist Lena Walker Smith had a fashion event called “Real Women Wear Knits” at Stitches West in Santa Clara, CA last Friday. I got a chance to check out the fashion show where 200 audience members and myself watched as Vickie and Lena taught us the basics on proportion, bodytype, and which knits worked the best. I loved how the show also reinforced all the ways you can adjust a knitting or crochet pattern and make it more flattering to your body, as well as how to embellish certain outfits. Hope you enjoy a few of Vickie and Lena’s great tips!
Some of the patterns shown in the fashion show, like the crochet kimono shrug shown above, are available at Vickie’s shop. – Link.
