I was poking around on Jenny Hart’s blog the other day, and was delighted to find Japanese embroidery artist Ayako Otsuka. Otsuka’s work is varied and ranges from a unique style of delicate white on white embroidery, to elegant botanical stumpwork, to quirky freehand. (As you can see I am more enamored with the latter.) Otsuka is the author of numerous embroidery books, and she runs her own studio, Ecru (in Japanese).
