Inspiration – The Beetle Bag

Beetlebag

Beth Fuller, a grad student at Pratt Instittute designed The Beetle Bag using the scarab beetle as inspiration.

Beth writes:

The Beetle Bag is inspired by a shockingly beautiful scarab beetle. The scarab features a lime green exterior shell and muted pink legs. Using olive leather, the bag achieves a smooth transition between green and pink leather. Mimicking reflective qualities of the beetle’s shell, smooth leather accomplishes a similar glossy effect. The bag’s facade is segmented like the beetle’s wings. Each wing is translated into an exterior front pocket, while wooden handles emulate the beetle’s head.
