Knitting
Katie’s favorite thing to knit is anything macabre or unsettling (like these Pan’s Labyrinth gloves we featured last year). “I love the juxtaposition of creepy with knitting, which is traditionally associated with the comforting and old fashioned” she says. Katie, the extroirdinaire behind “Knitrocious,” is constantly knitting, and when she’s not, her hands itch to cast on! Katie is a huge fan of the podcast Doug Loves Movies and has accrued a bit of a following in the DLM community for her habit of bringing a new knitted creation to every show in order to participate in the game portion. She’s also a pop culture fiend and Reddit junkie. A native of Bristol, Connecticut, Katie originally went to school for opera (and sang professionally for several years) and is about to start at The American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service to pursue a degree in Mortuary Science. “Another little fun fact,” she adds, “is that Adam Savage, patron saint of makers, purchased one of my facehuggers.” Well done, Katie!
