3d printed lightsaber

What better way is there to utilize your fancy 3D printer than making Obi-Wan’s lightsaber? Reddit user Passim has shared this fantastic print of Obi-Wan’s iconic weapon, displaying elegance a blaster could never achieve. The files he used are available on Ultimaker’s object hosting platform called Youmagine and can be downloaded for free.

If the somewhat spindly design of Obi-Wan’s lighsaber isn’t quite to your liking, you may wish to check out this slightly more hefty looking design over at thingiverse, labelled The Wookie Scalper.  Created by Pagaines, the Wookie Scalper even has a fun little assembly video to show you how it all goes together.

If you print any of these up, we would love to see pictures. Have fun, and May the 4th be with you!
