Hear ye! Hear ye! If you’ve got an awesome project you want to show off to the community at the largest DIY festival on Earth, you only have a few more days to get your application in. The Call for Makers originally was due to close last Sunday, but folks asked for a little extra time, and we’ve extended it to Sunday, March 2, 2014 at midnight PST, but this is the last call.
Maker Faire Bay Area is the Faire that started it all and this year we’re in our 9th year. Last year’s Maker Faire Bay Area featured 900+ maker exhibits and hosted 120,000 attendees representing 47 states and 36 countries. If you’re a maker, this is the place to be! Don’t delay — apply today!
There are a number of different types of maker applications:
- Maker Exhibit – an all-weekend exhibit to demo your project(s) (includes Commercial Makers)
- Performer – a scheduled performance, usually on a stage, set lengths vary
- Presenter – a scheduled 10, 20 or 45 minute presentation, usually on a stage
- Sponsor – established companies or commercial entities
- Startup Sponsor – startup companies: <5 yrs in business, <10 employees, etc. Details in form.We particularly encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making things.

You never know what maker-made wonders you’ll see at Maker Faire Bay Area, and that’s the beauty of it. You’re sure to leave inspired!
Also, this year the Power Racing Series is back! Participating teams from all over the country strip down and build up kids’ toy cars of the Power Wheels persuasion and race them on a specially designed track for hundreds of cheering fans. Rally your team and register to race!
