If you find yourself near Louisville, KY tomorrow night, head over to Indiana University Southeast in New Albany. MAKE founder Dale Dougherty will be speaking on campus at 6pm.
The title of Dale’s talk is “The Magic of Making: Engaging Students as Makers.” Dale will be discussing the importance of creating makerspaces in schools, developing a community of practice around engaging kids as makers, and how online tools can enhance and extend the value of making to the broader community.
The free event is part of the university’s “common experience” program. The program aims “to cultivate a common intellectual conversation across campus, to strengthen the sense of community at Southeast and in the region, to encourage open discussion, civil discourse, and critical thinking, and to enhance the reputation of Southeast as a regional center of learning excellence.”
