When I was a kid, my mom used to give me breakfast cereal floating in green milk on St. Patrick’s Day, but the folks at Classy Clutter have taken their green cereal game to the next level with these disturbingly appropriate St. Patrick’s Day Rice Krispie Treats!
My kiddos and I wanted to try a twist on the traditional Rice Krispie Treats and make them green and use Lucky Charms Marshmallows for St. Patrick’s Day!
Although you could try making some treats from just Lucky Charms cereal, this recipe suggests that you’ll get the best of both worlds when you just add the Lucky Charms’ marshmallows to the Rice Krispies, along with a hearty dollop of green food coloring. Picking the marshmallows out of the Lucky Charms could actually make this a fun recipe to make with the kids, although you’ll have to figure out what to do with the marshmallow-less Lucky Charms when you’re done, so… good luck with that!
