Craft & Design Food & Beverage

When I was at Eastern Market in Detroit last weekend, I almost crashed into one of these giant apples as I drifted toward the smell of cider and donuts. The MI Apple Trail is a celebration of southeastern Michigan’s farmers markets. Located across 20 markets in Wayne, Oakland, and Genessee Counties, the apples, made in Michigan, are decorated by local artists. Attendees have been voting for their favorite designs all summer and top honors will be awarded next week at Eastern Market’s Apple Gala. My favorite apple, of course, is “Pleasant Peninsula” by Carolyn Weber. Click the jump to see two more bedazzled apples.
