Jason Mecier is a San Francisco-based mosaic artist best known for his astounding and kitschy portraits of celebrities fashioned from foodstuff like beans, cereal, and macaroni. His Olsen Twins portrait is made from various candies such as peppermint sticks and (I think) Chiclets and jellybeans.

The Carol Channing portrait above was fashioned from yarn and googly eyes, and he also works with materials like pencils, old makeup containers, pills, cigarettes and seashells. Talk about recycling! Mecier has done illustration work for mags like Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly, and his work is collected by celebs such as Bjork, Melissa Etheridge and Parker Posey. It’s no surprise that his website is as kitschy and fun as his work. Link.
