I’m Guido from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I proposed to my wife almost three years ago on Easter. I came up with the idea of proposing in her hometown of Tandil with a treasure hunt. The idea was to make her leave the house, and then fill it with candles to set the atmosphere. The objective was to set up an easy, understandable route with a cloud solution and a bulletproof system… so I used a web-based QR creator, the BlackBerry QR reader, Dropbox as a file system for all the pics and music, and auto-adhesive paper to stick the QR codes all over the city.

But first, I made different QR codes to help her understand the game and gain some time to get to all the places I’ve picked. I even made her a “help” QR code with a map. Afterward, I used the QR codes and stuck them in key spots of the city where we’ve been during our relationship.

Then, I waited on the corner, hoping that she buys it and follows all the clues. As soon as she was out of sight, I went into the house and lit more than 50 candles. Meanwhile, she kept in contact by messaging me her current position.

When she finally got to the house, I stuck a QR code on the front door with our song (“Good Song” by Blur)… so when she got in, the music created the ambience. At last, when I saw her, I was holding a huge QR code with the proposal. We cried, hugged, and kissed, filled with happiness and joy.

She said yes, of course… and now we’re on out way to our 2nd anniversary.

I even created a post on the late Posterous, which @BlackBerry retweeted.
