Mine Craft: Decommissioned Naval Weapons Repurposed Into Beautiful Furniture

I have always had an aesthetic fascination with WWII naval mines. There’s something very retro-futuristic/steampunky about how they look. And then, of course, there was their grim lethality. Estonian artist Mati Karmin takes these now-inert military relics and makes beautiful and bizarre home furnishings with them. His site has a gallery, with fairly detailed descriptions of each build. While it may be tempting to think of building one of these yourself, sadly, the mines are rarely available for sale, though I’d assume they’re likely more available in Europe.
