Designing with Electroluminescent Wire at HackPGH

Join us at HackPittsburgh this Friday, where member Jet will talk about the history and current use of electroluminescent wire — aka “el wire” — in art, clothing and safety. He’ll explain how el wire works, where it works, what it’s good for, and show lots of examples both of el wire projects and how they were made. The talk will include some live demos of el wire costumes made for burning man and other projects.

Friday, September 14th – Free & open to the public.
Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7:30.
We’re at 1936 Fifth Avenue, in the garage around back (on Watson).
Look for our flag over the door.

FUBAR Labs Needs Your Help!

While FUBAR gets most of its income from member dues and class fees, we do rely on donations from the greater community of hackers and makers.

Every little bit helps. If you believe in what we do, have used the space in the past, or plan to in the future, a donation would be really appreciated.

We need to update/upgrade/replace some of our hand tools. For instance, we need things like a complete socket and wrench set, and our rechargeable hand tools need a new battery.
