Halloween… aka “the maker’s holiday.” We hope you’ve had another fun time planning costumes, props, food and party favors this year, and that you’re having a fun weekend unleashing your creations on family, friends, and hapless neighborhood children.
We always get a kick out of seeing what you all dreamed up. Please share any of your holiday-related creations in our Flickr pool (tag them “halloween2010”).
Reminder: Don’t forget our DIY Haunts contest, sponsored by Jameco Electronics, closing on Nov 2.. To be eligible, all you have to do is enter any Halloween prop that moves, and incorporates lights and sound. That’s it. It doesn’t even have to be a project from this year! And the prizes are sweeter than any candy that’ll get tossed into your plastic pumpkin pail. They include a really cool Parallax Stingray robot, a Lego Mindstorms set, and a $50 Maker Shed gift card. It’s over $740 worth of stuff! You can enter your completed prop here (and find out more info here).
And if you haven’t read Phil’s editorial piece, Halloween is a time for making, check it out.
From all of us here at Maker Media, we hope you have a fantastic, inspired weekend, one more filled with fun than frights.
