Things are rolling full steam ahead with the Crafty Chica’s “Safe Sparkle” rally, which was spurred on by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres’ dislike for the shiny stuff we all love to use in our projects. I hope you’ll join us next Tuesday in front of NBC’s Burbank studios to help promote glitter awareness. I’ll be there arm-in-arm with the Chica, as will many other LA-area crafters, and I’ll be giving out several hand-glittered CRAFT logo tees to the crowd. We’ll learn all about safe sparkle alternatives as we use supplies provided by Duncan Crafts to create glitter-positive signs and banners. (I think I want mine to say, “Don’t Be Bitter: USE MORE GLITTER!”)

Visit the Crafty Chica’s blog for all the latest updates, including the exciting new glitter-centric charity drive she’s putting together. Donate your own sparkly creations for sale and the funds will be presented to Idols Give Back, a fundraiser Ellen is hosting. Yet another way glitter can be used for good!
