Come to the Strange Folk Festival in O’Fallon, IL this weekend September 27-28. The hours are: Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm. Strange Folk is the Heartland’s largest outdoor indie arts and crafts show, featuring 120 modern makers from across the country. O’Fallon is just 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis, and easily accessible from both sides of the Mississippi.
These reusable shopping totes will be free to the first 100 attendees who present a craft vendor purchase at the info booth, and sold separately for $3. They will be filled with crafty goodies, like Sublime Stitching patterns and fat quarters from Crafty Planet. Strange Folk is prohibiting vendors from providing plastic bags for sold wares. An Eco-Craft Exhibits will be hosted all around the park, displaying finished craft projects like self watering plant pots made from soda bottles, cereal box gift wrapping, and pizza box solar ovens. To cut down on paper consumption, these projects will be posted on an upcoming section of the web site, “The Gnome’s Workshop”. Add to that a “Meditation Garden”, eco-friendly kids activities (including what might be the first ever GIANT sandbox at an indie craft show), Alpaca Petting Zoo, and onsite coffee shop!
