10th Annual Best Illusion Contest Open

Through the Eyes of Giants by Arash Afraz and Ken Nakayama

Hosted by the Neural Correlate Society, the 10th Annual Best Illusion of the Year Contest is now open for submissions! A celebration of creativity and ingenuity, Makers from all over the globe are welcome to enter their novel perceptual or cognitive illusions using any sensory media. The top three winners will take home amazing trophies created by renowned sculptor and artist, Guido Moretti.

Submissions can be made to Susana Martinez-Conde (Illusion Contest Executive Producer, Neural Correlate Society) via email until Feb. 14, 2014. An international panel of judges will review the illusions and select the top ten for presentation at the Contest Gala in May in St. Petersburg, Fl. Attendees will decide upon the three winners.

Past winner have included videos of mathematical concepts like rotation and translation, aerial photographs converted to 3D, multisensory experiences and distortions of beautiful and ugly faces.
