MAKE reader Sprg writes in with another GPS logger – “Here is a cheaper one yet. And it has more features too! Bluetooth, USB, 10 hr battery life, adjustable log intervals… On sale for $94.99! Wintec WBT-200“ – Link.

If you don’t mind a factory refurbished model, they have one for $84.99, too.

Anyone know of a cheap fully OS X compatible solution? One that integrates with Google Earth (is there anything else?) preferably.
I was looking into this unit more. It seems like it might be a full GPS when I use it with my bluetooth PDA and it can function as a datalogger without the PDA. That would be really nice.
Too bad the documents are in word format. It’s hard to tell what it can do from the basic description. I know there’s TomTom software available for my PDA, can it with this?
I’ve written a module for GPSBabel that supports the WBT-200 and documented getting it working on Mac OS here.
Currently it only supports downloading the logged data and optionally erasing it. When I get a moment I’ll write a stand alone program to query and set the WBT-200’s settings.
