Ann Arbour-area geeks traversed unpleasant wintery conditions, risked lives, and were rewarded with free Make: television.

Even with treacherous roads and cold temperatures, 70 people showed up for our screening of two episodes of Make TV Thursday night on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Some folks came from as far away as Toledo, Ohio, while others came from laboratories down the hall. Following the screening, local groups demonstrated RFID tag reading, CNC milling, sumo robot wrestling, lock picking, video game cartridge emulation, and Lego robotics. Every now and then a spud-launcher would loft a Maker t-shirt above the crowd. A good time was had by all.The screening was sponsored by a2geeks and GO-Tech.

Stay informed of Ann Arbor geek events in general, and at GO-Tech’s page for GO-Tech meetings (our next is Tuesday February 10). link

Want to host a screening event of your own? Just send an email to maketelevision@makezine.com and tell us about what kind of screening event you’d like to do and when. Remember, you can find all of the currently broadcast episodes ad the PDF plans at makezine.tv/episodes.
