Here’s a wonderful Maker Faire interview with Adam Savage, conducted by Miles O’Brien, which aired tonight on PBS NewsHour. Adam discusses Maker Faire and MAKE, the maker movement, the sad death of shop classes in schools, our current historical sweet-spot for hacking the tech in our lives, and the need to embrace a certain degree of danger/risk in the learning process. A really nice piece.

Dude! Just saw a TV story about maker faire and the upcoming makers (though not Adam savage, we just flipped it on and saw the last 5 minutes of something)! I was so rocked, cause I live in a rural area in a town of about 5000 inhabitants, and I seem to be the only teen I know who actually is involved in it, but there might be a school 30 miles away that is starting some maker related activities (Awesome! Never heard of the activities before that). So awesome to see it, especially here! Keep it up DIY community! And congrats to all who are involved! :)

Video not working today. I’m using the Google Chrome browser, is this why? Or is the video just not working?
I’m on Chrome for Mac and having trouble with videos on a few sites today. Incidentally, this one works fine for me, but YouTube embeds and some flash content end up being a hole in the window, I can see my desktop through them. Is that what you’re seeing too?
