MAKE Flickr photo pool member Sheepslinky posted up some photos of this cool electronics shop in the Los Angles area… – “If you’re in LA and love tech-scrap, Apex Electronics in Sun Valley is paradise. They sell LOTS of electronic parts, surplus, used and NOS, organized into bins that reach the wharehouse sealing. Lot’s of cool retro panels, bakelite knobs and old scopes, computers and tools.
Their scrap yard is amazing. Since Apex only deals in Tech related stuff (for the most part), it’s like a maker’s dream. A great place for the next enclosure, piece of scrap metal or strange object.
They also rent old computers and technological props to movie productions (think Apollo 13). Sadly, the valuable supercomputers are locked in another wharehouse… “
“Apex Electronics has been in business in Sun Valley, California for over 50 years. We are a small family owned business that specializes in buying and selling surplus electronics. We have a treasury of hard to find, out of production, items. When in Los Angeles please stop by our store. We offer more than 10,000 square feet of unusual and exciting merchandise. “ [via] – photos & APEX Electronics.
