Wedding Belles, Ideas and Inspiration from Island Brides, shares the story of dozens of unique Hawaiian weddings. And while there is plenty of sunset beach photography, leis, and island traditions, Wedding Bells is a guidebook for the wedding of your dreams- even for couples on the mainland. It’s filled with practical tips for modern couples, from those who want to have a destination wedding in Hawaii, to those who have just always been drawn to the beautiful tradition of exchanging leis.
The book is written with stories from many different, personal, and heatfelt weddings. The most diverse types of couples all can find something in common with the romance of Hawaii. I loved reading about all the creative proposals and dreamy surprises. One featured bride turned the tables on her husband by surprising him with an R2D2 robot bride! How cool is that?
I also loved finding a bride in the book with hot pink hair! Kanoe put together an amazing wedding with the intention of having it be “funky meets glam”. I think she nailed, it, right?
Her wedding appears throughout the book, and she provides not only great style inspiration, but also shares heartfelt advice on making sure that your day represents you, not just your parents. Oh, and her cactus girl centerpieces are awesome too!
