Engadget’s Insert Coin Competition is Back

Engadget is accepting applications for its second Insertย Coin: New Challengers competition, offering makers and innovators a chance at $25,000 to help position promising new hardware projects for crowdfunding success.

Theย Insertย Coinย competition is aimed at helpingย makers with financial and promotional support. The competition brings together Engadget editors, readers, and a panel of expert judges to help identify great new gadgets.

The Judgesโ€™ Choice winner will receive $10,000 and the Readersโ€™ Choice winner will receive $15,000, an Engadget review, and the chance to debut their product on stage in front of press, attendees, and a live online audience at Expand NY,ย Engadget’s bjg consumer tech ย show Nov. 9-10ย at New York City’s Javits Center.

At the inaugural Insertย Coin event in San Francisco, the Ziphius aquatic drone won both Readersโ€™ Choiceย andย Grand Prize awards, taking home a grand total of $25,000. They later launched a successful Kickstarter campaign. They say they will start shipping to backers in March.
