Finally! The Electric Giraffe has a Hometown Maker Faire

9190748738_e8e4be19f0_bMaker Faire fans know the Russell the Electric Giraffe. It has been at every Maker Faire Bay Area since 2007. However, most Maker Faire visitors don’t know that maker Lindsay Lawlor and his Giraffe travel all the way from San Diego every year to participate.

Well, starting this weekend, the Giraffe can be in it’s preferred habitat AND stay home! The first-ever San Diego Mini Maker Faire is this coming Saturday, December 7th from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

Maker Faire and MAKE magazine founder Dale Dougherty will presenting at noon; there will be a Nerdy Derby track so you can make and race; maker groups like the San Diego Drone Users Group, the San Diego Robotics Club, the San Diego FabLab, and the San Diego Youth Space Institute will be showing and sharing; electric car conversions and kinetic projects moving around—such as another Maker Faire Bay Area favorite, Unicorn bikes Charlie & Pearl.  Don’t delay!  Get your advance tix (and save!) and see you at the fair!
