If you’re going to National Maker Faire in Washington DC this weekend (and you should), you’ll want to check out the folks from GE, who will be there to answer your questions about their Lights for Life Challenge.
Make: has partnered with GE and Hackster.io to offer a challenge to inventors, designers and makers to design the future of connected lighting. With an average of 45 light fixtures in every home, turning those fixtures into Bluetooth-enabled connection points is a brilliant way to connect the smart home of tomorrow.
Got a bright idea for how to leverage the smart, connected home? Here’s your chance to shine. Oh, and to take home the $25,000 grand prize and have your project produced and taken to market by GE.
To get started, create a profile on the Hackster challenge platform (which is also a great way to show off your projects and skills to the Maker community, by the way) and participate!
So if you’re in DC this weekend, stop by GE’s booth at National Maker Faire, chat with their engineers, and get the lowdown on the challenge — and play with their new smart LED C Life light bulbs they’ll have on display. They’re sure to get you inspired to design the next step in the Internet of Things.
