Fiber artist Karley Klophenstein has spent the last few years latch-hooking carpets by hand and creating this half-scale Abrams military tank out of them.
In the same way that the helicopter became the symbol for the Vietnam War, the tank has become obligatory in the landscape of the Middle East. By cloaking an American weapon in cultural camouflage of traditional textile patterns she seeks to engage the audience in a dialog about the contradictions of war.
