High School Robotics Team’s “Xcalibear” Stolen, But Maker Spirit Prevails

Xcalibear

The champion robotics team, Bear Metal, from Tahoma High School in Maple Valley, Washington was busy this weekend celebrating their win at the FIRST Robotics Championship in Philomath, Oregon. Their robot Xcalibear dominated the competition and the team walked away with the Blue Event Winner banner. While the team was still in celebration mode they found out Sunday that the trailer Xcalibear was traveling home on was stolen in Auburn, Washington. The students next competition is this Saturday. Instead of giving up they are in a mad dash this week to get their practice robot Sir Bearington ready for its competition debut.

It is an inexplicable, sad loss, but one that will not hold down the Kingdom of Bear Metal for long!

While the students hope that Xcalibear will show up before their competition Saturday, they aren’t letting the theft diminish their Maker spirit.
