How-To: Make a Bug Habitat and Stick Insect

bug6-1.jpg
I love these summer kid projects from indietutes, like this bug habitat from a shoebox and these stick insects. They’re a good reminder that projects for kids don’t have to be fancy or use a lot of materials, they just have to (gasp!) spark the imagination and get them excited about the world. Even better, the step-by-step photos here show an actual kid making the project, which is so cool. (Not that it isn’t wonderful to make things for your children, but it’s also nice to see the twists and turns of a kid’s mind as they create.) The praying mantis looks particularly fine!
