KnitKnit #7 is out and to celebrate there will be a special launch event this Thursday, March 15th at The Museum of Arts and Design (40 West 53rd Street, New York, NY 10019). The event is free with museum admission.

Lecture: “The Possibilities of Knitting” 6-7pm

Sabrina Gschwandtner, artist, founder of KnitKnit magazine, and author of the upcoming book “KnitKnit: Profiles and Projects from Knitting’s New Wave” (Stewart, Tabori and Chang, New York, fall 2007), will speak about contemporary knit projects. She will cover the wide range of knitting’s cross-disciplinary uses, from clothing, sculpture and performance, to protest, therapy and graffiti, and will highlight projects from around the world that are inventive, conceptual, political and cutting edge.
