Maker Faire San Diego: Calling All Early Birds and Makers

MFSD 2016 - Press (10)

If the first two years of Maker Faire San Diego are any indication, the upcoming third incarnation, taking place October 1 and 2 in historic Balboa Park, is going to be an absolute blast! What’s on tap? More than 200 maker exhibits, a robust lineup of speakers, and hands-on workshops covering everything from building robots to learning the fine art of working with leather. Plus, a ticket to the Faire also gets you access to all 10 participating museums in Balboa Park, as well as Spanish Village and The Old Globe. And speaking of what’s on tap, the San Diego Museum of Man in Balboa Park will be hosting micro and home brewers while San Diego State University teaches you everything you need to know about the science and chemistry behind beer.

I'm a word nerd who loves to geek out on how emerging technology affects the lexicon. I was an editor on the first 40 volumes of MAKE, and I love shining light on the incredible makers in our community. In particular, covering art is my passion — after all, art is the first thing most of us ever made. When not fawning over perfect word choices, I can be found on the nearest mountain, looking for untouched powder fields and ideal alpine lakes.
