Love Maker Faire? Wish you could bring Maker Faire to your town? Come to the Mini Maker Faire Producers’ Workshop on Friday, May 18th, the day before Maker Faire Bay Area, and find out more about Maker Faire’s Mini Maker Faire program.
This year there will be almost 60 Mini Maker Faires around the globe, from Orlando, Fla., to Dublin, Ireland, to Seattle, Wash. These fairs range widely in scale and scope, but all are community-based and independently-produced. All were started by people who love MAKE and Maker Faire and wanted to bring the experience to their community.
If you attend the workshop you’ll meet the people behind Maker Faire—founder Dale Dougherty, MAKE editors, the core Maker Faire event production team — as well as 20+ producers from existing Mini Maker Faires. Topics will include a brief orientation to the licensing process, and then we’ll dive into breakout sessions on our ticketing platform (Eventbrite), marketing and PR, community development, and maker recruitment.
The Mini Maker Faire Producers’ Workshop is free to attend, but you must register in advance to get info on arrival, etc.
P.S. If you can’t make the meeting, please read our page, So You Want to Make a Maker Faire for pertinent info and application.
