If you’re an origami or papercraft enthusiast, then you might consider using a printmaking technique to decorate the paper that you work with like artist Eve Goodby did with these fantastic papercraft flowers made from linocut prints.
The patterns I used for my linocut project came from images that my father had taken. In his lab at York University, he researches into liquid crystals and photographs their movements through a microscope. We had an exhibition in London at the Royal Society of Chemistry in which I had painted versions of these and he had uses the patterns to digitally create artwork of flowers and other imagery. I have taken 15 prints which I divided into 4 to give 60 squares to fold into petals.
