The wireless components wired in

Have you ever loved an old car but wanted it to have some of today’s practical features? Reddit user WorldwideBrandt has. He loves his 1999 Subaru Forester and he loves upgrading it.

This project is a modification of the space directly in front of the stick shift into a wireless charger.

The original space didn’t fit his new phone so he cut out the base of the stock plastic cover and modified it to fit. He cut the base and used epoxy to add some plastic and plexiglass. Then he used bondo and lots of sanding to give the appearance of a stock cover.

The charger components required a 12v to 5v converter in order to connect to the car’s power supply. Now his 16 year old Subie has contemporary car charging capabilities.
