In response to potters who’ve said that “porcelain clay is like cream cheese” when it gets too wet, Manchester Craftsman’s Guild Artist in residence Yoko Sekino-Bové conducted a little experiment to determine the validity of that statement by attempting to throw a bowl with a block of cream cheese. Despite the amusing premise of Sekino-Bové’s clever test, this video is a great example of the value of experimenting with new materials, even ones that might already be in your fridge, because now we know that it’s possible to make cream cheese bowls!
