Travel to NYC on the Road to Maker Faire Challenge!

RTMFCNY badgeWizard of OZ jokes aside, there really are only a few roads that lead to World Maker Faire in NYC. That’s because the borough of Queens where World Maker Faire takes place is on an island, Long Island. As islands go, you can only get there by bridge or tunnel, or by boat. Of course millions also travel to NYC every year via the city’s two airports, LaGuardia and JFK. With so much to explore, from record-setting skyscrapers and iconic neighborhoods to parks and museums, there really is something there for everyone. If you’ve never visited the city of five boroughs, I cannot recommend it enough.

Now if you’re ready to journey to the city that never sleeps, this is an opportunity you don’t want to pass up. The Road to Maker Faire Challenge, presented by Esurance, will award one lucky maker with $2,500 to travel to NYC this September and exhibit at World Maker Faire! Whether you live in the boroughs or many states away, this is your chance to expo what you make in America’s most populous city at the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth.

Use the prize money for your travels, or use it to take your project to the next level. Or keep it! And save it for your next project’s expenses.

There’s one month remaining to apply. Applications must be completed by 11:59pm PT on Monday, August 5th. This challenge is only open to legal residents of the United States. The complete rules can be found here, and I look forward to meeting the winner/s at World Maker Faire in September!
