What do you do when it’s snowy outside? At Mr. C’s library makerspace it became an opportunity to build a geodesic reading dome with students. The project came from Make: Paper Inventions, and for very little money involved the students in a project with a big “WOW” factor.
This is one of the coolest cosplay builds I’ve seen in awhile. Inspired by Lord Okkoto from Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke, mask and prop maker Nymla first sculpts, molds, and then paints this stunning mask.
Our project editor, Keith, found this stunning lighting project by a maker who writes under the name “sander”. They’ve taken a vintage phone and by suspending and illuminating the receiver created something surreal and just a little bit uncanny. The rotary dial controls the light’s brightness, and they’re thinking of connecting the ringer in the phone to their doorbell.
