This post is coming to you live from Maker Faire UKย being held this weekend at the Life Science Centreย here in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
This weekend is the high point of the maker year here in Britain withย Maker Faire UKย running all weekend here in theย Life Science Centreย in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. This yearย is theย fifth Maker Faire to be held in Newcastleย and itโs larger than ever, withย 350 makers, with projects from the giant car-crushingย Robohandย โ whose creators brought it over from Amsterdam just forย the faire โ down to tiny in intricate wooden toys and new micro-controller boards.
Next year,ย Maker Faire UKย will be joined by aย full scale faire.ย Our third flagship event willย join theย Bay Area and New York Maker Fairesย as one of our largest, and will be held inย East Londonโs Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at theย Here Eastย complex.
The faire opened its doors at 10am this morning, and will be open all day today, until 6pm, and then again tomorrow from 10am till 5pm. Tickets are available on the door.
Butย if you can’t make it here to Newcastle, there are six other mini-Maker Faires running this weekendย for you to choose from. So roll up, roll up, for all the fun of the faire and the greatest show (and tell) on Earth…
