We were thrilled by the response we got to our Green Project Contest, part of GE’s ecomagination. We ended up with 83 projects posted, 6634 votes, and many tweets and FB shares. There were a lot of really interesting, innovative, and fun entries, from re-webbing aluminum lawn chair frames with old belts, to a building your own solar device charger, to the Green Scientist program (teaching science and sustainability to kids).
When we’d counted up all of the votes, the winners were revealed. And now… the moment you’ve all been waiting for. [Pregnant pause] The winner… of the Grand Prize… in the Make: Green Project Contest is… [Another pregnant pause]:

Check them out, visit the project websites, email the creators of projects you like and tell them so. These are people trying to dream up innovative solutions to problems, whether small or global in scope. They could use your encouragement.
