In this how-to Alberto Ricci Bitti shows you how to design a greenbox no-waste charging station for your mobile phone that will lower your utility costs and environmental impact. The simple and elegant design makes unplugging a power draining wall wart very easy and instinctive.

I have been appalled that our solutions to vampire drain involve more energy-using technology. Sig. Bitti and I have apparently found our ways to the same solution, a simple momentary switch.
To see another variation on the same concept, check out the green design section on http://www.jeffreymatthias.com. I designed the Sw/tch last fall. I’ll give details to anyone who is interested in making their own. I haven’t had time to post a instructable.
