Augmented Reality Heads-up Baseball Cap

Let’s face it, heads-up displays are not the most flattering wearable technology. That said, they really can enhance the information visualization experience. If you’re looking for a cheap and easy way to get that Terminator-like augmented reality experience, you’ll want to check out this hacked up HMD baseball cap from Melbourne area maker Matt Kwan.

Using a HTC Desire smartphone, a baseball cap, various pieces of mirrored plastic film, a few fresnel lenses, some rubber bands, and binder clips, Matt was able to coax an image overlay into his field of vision. It’s not quite JPL, but then again, this is something you could do over a weekend in your garage. [Thanks, Matt!]
