Yesterday the general public learned what a pentalobe is. You might be asking yourself why you’d need such a thing, but if you’re like Uwants member mkmarken, then you’d want it to disassemble your iPhone 4 in order to strip the black coating from the inside of the Gorilla Glass enclosure with a little paint thinner. Just because you’re continually discouraged from opening your device doesn’t mean you can’t make it easier for everyone to see what’s inside. [via TUAW]

Very cool!
I am surprised that Apple always finds a way to solve every problem that comes their way. BTW, this clear case doesn’t make any sene.
I opened mine last night and there is a ground plane and a 3/4″ wide strip with a dielectric backing that have been removed to make the back clear. I’m not sure what these parts do, they may be components of the antenna system or perhaps some sort of filter cap.
I suspect that this phone doesn’t work as well as it used to, but perhaps it merely no longer meets FCC requirements for interference.
Nice, that’s helpful for me!
does doing a clear iphone 4 mod cancel the warrenty auto?

I would put the phone back to original before taking it to an apple store.
