21-day NYC Resistor hacking session in 5 minutes

Technology

I love everything about this — laptops everywhere, pizza and Club-Mate getting guzzled down, with the lights dimming only briefly in the early hours of the morning. Classic. The countdown clock was a nice touch.

NYC Resistor (nycresistor.com) was invited to participate in a hackerspace challenge with four other hackerspaces: Pumping Station: One, Artisans Asylum, The Transistor, and Crash Space. VIMBY and Scion gave us 21 days, three rules, and three grand to hack something amazing. We chose to build a BarBot with a slot machine brain. This is a 5+ minute distilation of the 504 hours of the competition.
