How-To: Playful Puppy Robot

Make: Projects community member and winner of the MAKE Volume 27 Robot Contest, OddBot, recently shared a new project build with us in the form of a Playful Puppy Robot. How playful? You be the judge:

OddBot shows you how to build the puppy bot, which is Arduino compatible and requires no soldering. The sample code he provides lets you control the bot with simple hand gestures to perform tricks such as shake hands and walk on its back legs. Sweet — thanks OddBot!

I'm a word nerd who loves to geek out on how emerging technology affects the lexicon. I was an editor on the first 40 volumes of MAKE, and I love shining light on the incredible makers in our community. In particular, covering art is my passion — after all, art is the first thing most of us ever made. When not fawning over perfect word choices, I can be found on the nearest mountain, looking for untouched powder fields and ideal alpine lakes.
