I dropped in toward the end of the Rhode Island FIRST Vex Challenge yesterday, and I learned something I didn’t know; my home state is the first state in the US where every public high school has the opportunity to participate in a FIRST Challenge. I realize we are the smallest state in the US, and get to take 20 against scaling problems, but it’s still pretty cool.
Got photos of robot challenges in your area? Post some links in the comments. [photo set] Link.

Silly me, I totally forgot to add these to the make group last week. Here’s the FIRST event in Boston: http://www.flickr.com/gp/12835735@N00/6XHCB8
It was a blast!
And here’s some video with the Governor MC’ing, he was really cool, and made a good speech. The kids were really excited. I can’t wait until mine are old enough for the FIRST Lego League.
