uCalc Credit Card Scientific Calculator

Technology

Dave Jones of the EEVblog gives a preview and design walkthrough of the uCalc credit card scientific calculator project that he is working on. He’s calling it an open hardware design, so I’m looking forward to seeing the design files when he releases it! It has some pretty beefy specs for a calculator:

  • PIC 24F 16 bit Processor
  • 256KB Flash
  • 16KB SRAM
  • 64KB serial flash user memory
  • 3-Axis tilt sensor
  • Micro SD card
  • capacitive touch sensing keypad
  • 128×64 dot matrix display
